Steel Radial
The innovative belt structure features a single ply of steel cords wrapped around a radial carcass. This patented high performance technology in the Metzeler Racetec Supermoto is for both front and rear tires. It features a higher stiffness than textile and reduce of tire weight. The steel radial belt reduces the deformation of the tire under centrifugal forces giving the tire excellent high speed stability, and a more uniform heat distribution.
Metzeler Advanced Winding
Metzelers advanced winding is a patented system. It features optimum spacing between the cords of the steel belt. The steel cords are wound with different spacing depending on the requirements for that particular area of the tire. In both front and rear tires the spacing is wider in the crown area for more elasticity and self damping. For sections of the tire used for mid lean, there is increased stiffness to support fast cornering. On the shoulder area on the rear tire, spacing is again wider for more feedback and control when riding towards full lean.
Contour Modeling Technology
A combination of different profiles for the front and rear. The final design of the tire set features the best aspects of performance for every riding style on all of the latest bikes, predictability, feedback at the limit of grip and cornering stability. This advanced design technology is tuned for high performance riding.
